Andrew R.O. Jones

Andrew is a partner at Sim & McBurney and Sim Ashton & McKay LLP where he litigates intellectual property and related commercial disputes with a focus on trade-marks and copyright. In addition, Andrew helps owners of intellectual property protect and exploit IP assets through domestic and international licensing, and advises brokers and insurers on the regulation, distribution and marketing of insurance products.

Andrew is a regular speaker at conferences and on panels on intellectual property licensing and litigation, IP aspects of competition and insolvency law, and the distribution of goods and services.

Prior to joining Sim Ashton & McKay LLP in 2002, Andrew worked in New York City and Washington D.C. in government affairs, and in Canada as senior counsel to a large commercial insurance group.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys long distance running and biking, collecting guitars and jazz and blues recordings.
