What about countries other than Canada?

"Got an idea?"

Canada is a member of international organizations and adheres to several treaties which permit the filing of patents, trade-marks, copyrights and industrial designs and other forms of protection in most foreign countries. In the case of patents, usually these applications must be filed before you get any Canadian patent on the same subject, and, preferably should be filed very soon after filing an applcation in Canada in order to obtain the best possible protection. Your Canadian agent or lawyer deals with other agents and lawyers in foreign countries and can, on your behalf, see that the necessary materials are filed and prosecuted.
